Just resign now.
Governor Spitzer should resign. Senator Craig should resign. Senator Vitter should resign. Bill Clinton should have resigned. Don't they know that public office is a public trust?
And that is exactly the problem -- the public trusts them. The entire philaw, er, I mean, philosophical foundation of this country is based on NOT trusting those in power. As a nation, we have long forgotten that, and have utterly failed to hold them accountable.
